NEWS 2011
April to September - Oh dear, I didn't realise how long it has been since I updated this page. So much has happened. Little Lani (Sandsprite Southern Sky) has joined the family all the way from WA :) She is a little cracker of a pup, already excelling in the show ring and a joy to train in obedience. Jasper is chipping away at his Grand Champ title with less than 350 points to go. And Phoenix.. well what an awesome year she has had so far !!! She has totally blown me away. 1 Best in Group, 7 Runnerup in Groups, Multi Open in Groups and nearly 500 points since March! She is getting closer to 8 years and showing no signs of slowing down. What a fun girl she is :) It will be such a shame when I finally retire her. I plan to try again to see if we can have puppies with her at the end of the year.
February to March - Well... no puppies for us :( Phoenix changed her mind, but I think she had an ulterior motive as she is now back in the show ring! And the old girl has really hit the ring running... picking up many wins already. Mary gained her CH title with a 10pt Best of Breed win in great company! One of Jasper's girlfriends has just come in season so I would think matings at the end of March will happen. I hope they have nice puppies. Herding training is on hold for now due to lack of time on weekends, but both kids are now getting into agility and loving it. Jasper is also trying his hand at being an obedience dog :). CH Suthenskys Supernatural (owned by Sandria in WA) has had another litter, this time 8 gorgeous puppies. This is a repeat mating of Yoshi and Ruby. Will we be adding a new family member? Stay tuned...
NEWS 2010
December to January - Sandria has gained Ruby's Australian Champion title in WA ! Congrats to you guys ! David did a great job of finishing off Devin's title too! What a fantastic team those two are becoming. Mary is only one point off her title, she has been doing very well with Donna and Franz. Phoenix has been confirmed pregnant! Now fingers crossed for a lovely litter. Jasper has another couple of girlfriends lined up in the next few months :) Im sure that will make him happy! Although we wont be in the showring much until Phoenix's babies are older, Im really looking forward to getting Jasper back in the ring! Hoping to get him Hipscored soon. Oh and Jasper has two of his kids going into the show ring, a choc girl has gone to Jan in Nth Qld and the red and tan boy has gone to Sandria in WA.... good luck guys !
August to November - Jasper has gained his PT title in herding, Merlin, Sirena and Mary have all gained their HT titles! Sirena has gone to an obedience home and is now called Cilla ! Mary, who is now on 95 points and is still a couple of weeks off turning 1, has gone to live with Donna and Franz where she will still be shown. Jasper is now a Daddy ! He has sired a litter of 5 puppies, two of which are red and tan! Unfortunately they lost one of the little red and tan boys at 1 week old. Phoenix is now in season and just making arrangements to send her back to Jasper's father for a repeat mating. And Jasper is a third of his way in points to his Grand title at only 18 months old.
May to July - Jasper gained his Australian Champion title just after his 1st birthday! He is still showing and is successful, picking up more points and classes in group. Sirena won BABY IN SHOW! This was her last show in Baby and my very first Baby in show with a home bred dog. I was so proud of her as there was a lovely lineup of babies. Mary is living back with us again... she is such a sweet little girl. She has picked up her first points to her title and a Puppy in group so far. Along with Jasper, she is now learning to herd sheep. Shamus gained his PT title for herding and some very exciting news for him... he has been sold to a lady in France !!! Phoenix is still in training for agility and hopefully I will get her to a trial sometime this year.
February to April - Well quite a bit has happened in the month of April so far... I travelled to Sydney with a friend who also has Kelpies. We went down easter weekend for the Sydney Royal and the NSW Kelpie Specialty show. Had a great time down there catching up with friends and I was very happy with the results of Jasper and Sirena. Mary has come back home, which I am delighted about. She is such a sweet little girl. Her owner decided he wasnt ready for a puppy so I was very happy when he offered her back to me. I will start showing her the end of May. Oh and we also had Toowoomba Royal, Jasper won Junior in Group! I was so happy with him.
January - Here is hoping 2010 is a fun one for the Show Ring.. I will be campaigning young Jasper, who is now 9 mths old and has grown into a truely lovely boy, and his half sister Sirena. She is such a pretty little thing and her first show will be early March at Alstonville (Casino KC). Shamus has his CD title now, so is in training for CDX and is also going to start agility and jumpers trialling in March. He will also be competing in herding once the trials start up for that. Phoenix will be semi retired, but I will start taking her to agility training again, which she loves.
